Newscast Critique

During the recent news cast my job was the floor director. My job performance was fair, having so issues in the beginning we started to smooth out at the end of the News. The strengths and weaknesses of this broadcast was first the weakness, starting off a little shaky, we weren't prepared fast enough having to start over a few times. Some other weakness occurred during the newscast, having minor error like elbows sticking out and words miss pronounced. On the other hand, The positives are very good, having the hole crew having a great attitude to do a newscast, also we have improved greatly since day 1. My performance was shaky coming at of the start but as the news cast kept rolling, things went very smooth down the stretch. One last thing that I believe we need to work on is practicing ending of newscast as we had an error for the most recent one that we have done. Therefore this a Newscast critique that I have created for TV production class.

Movie Review 2

The film that I choose for my second movie review was Batman The Dark Knight. This movie that I have watched in the past has been a great film to watch over the years. As the movie starts out, we see a shot moving over the city of Gotham and music starts to play that shows masked men planning an evil scheme. This part in the film grabbed my attention quick, and sudden, wanting to know what happens next. The next scene starts the film out with very fast pasting action, as all the suspects rob the bank with little trouble in their way, they end up all shooting each other for more pay at the end, but the Joker is the only one remaining. Next, a very great visual scene occurred when the batmobile sprung out of no where coming in to the parking garage as more criminals were taken place. The movie overall is a very fast paced and action packed thrill ride all the way through. as each action scene makes you come off your seat. The production values in The Dark Knight are brilliant, this being said the characters are very diverse and realistic, with the action being widely affective and amazing to watch throughout. Carrying on through out the movie, another beautiful visual that I had watched was a sky view of a large vast ocean with a wealthy boat sailing with Bruce Wayne (Batman) inside, then suddenly a plane landed on the water making a unexpected splash showing great visuals in the scene. Characterization is one of the best things that makes this film great. Bruce Wayne is a very intelligent and wealthy man who owns Wayne enterprise, being a wealthy man Bruce Wayne is also the Batman. Batman is a very independent and self do person, he is very open minded in combat and his instincts are unbreathable. While the Joker on the other hand is totally a crazy minded villain who loves to plays tricks and games. He always get what he wants In full, meaning he will do crazy things. One scene where the Joker is at his best is where he has a man by a knife to his lips, telling him about a story of how he got scares on his face, this shows that the Joker is a very terrorizing character in the film. One of the best efficient scenes in the movie was when there was police memorial occurring, tension was rising of were the joker would be next. As the pacing started slow, it ended up being a chaos event as shots were being fired to remember the fallen, the joker dressed as one of the cops and attempted to kill the governor but ended up shooting Gordon. People were also wildly running everywhere in this scene. The Second best scene that was shown in the movie had to be when they were escorting Harvey Dent, with heavy armored vehicles and helicopters, police tried to go doing business, but with Joker to interfere things get ugly fast. Making the escort go under ground, where Joker had planed for this. The music in this film is greatly used throughout, during the most climaxed times, the music would make you feel like your there, with loud and upbeat music. And during the saddest parts of the movie, the music is at a more slower and sadder pace. Throughout the end of the movie, I thought it was well scripted with excellent moments that brought you to the edge of your seat, I also believe that this movie is well deserved to be in the top 250 in midb. With great action, suspense, sadness, and justice, this Movie was well written with great actors, gorgeous visual of Gotham the city, and the main plot. Therefore The Dark Knight was the movie that I choose for my second movie review

Newscast Critique

The second  Newscast that the crew had done was very well improved , having taking out the very little errors that make a news cast complete but not perfect  What I believed we had done well the second time during the newscast was made the corrections necessary before hand between the tech crew making sure the shots were on point and the audio was tuned just fine. Another component that we did well was making eye contact in the camera and pronouncing words correctly with the anchors. What I believe that needs to be improved are the little things that happened during the newscast like someone's elbow showing when someone else was talking, or when the camera was shut off then had to be turned on again. The comment on my performance were I thought I did a much better job then my first every time being floor director. Every new newscast I am being more progressive and became atop on everything in advance learning what I need to improve with the mistakes I make and fix them. I also thought I helped a lot being easy to the camera people and letting them know what they need to know. For future newscast my thoughts are that we should do a zoom in to the main anchor with the first story. And that we make even more eye contact since it wont hurt us. Also for future broadcast I think we should be more energetic bringing more energy into each newscast. Therefore this was the second newscast critique that I created and these are my thoughts on it.

Movie Review 1

The movie that I choose for the movie review was the Seven Samurai. What I really liked about the movie was how it stared off, having the bandits coming down the hill about to raid a village . The pace in this scene started off very fast and grabbed my attention fully. This had gave me the conclusion that a poor village has been under attack and raided by bandits for quite a while. By the advice of the Grand-Dad, they decide to hire four - which soon becomes seven - samurai for the job. There's no money, just food and honor, even though the village isn't exactly pleased to have samurai back in their village. throughout the movie the scenes in this movie are very dramatic with the action being wonderfully filmed. For example early use of slow motion to accentuate key moments, like when a baby had been held capture from a man, the group of people were silent preying that the child was alright when a man decided to go in and stab the man with a sword. Next the characterization in the Seven Samurai is excellent; with that being said the characters in the Seven Samurai each has his or her own arc, his or her own vital part to play in the film's slow progression towards its dramatic finale. Each of the seven Samurai's are so richly given life to in the screenplay that little more would have been needed to make them memorable characters, Takashi Shimura , who plays the leader of the ragged band of samurai, gives his sage and venerable warrior a god-like intensity that makes the magnetic charisma of his character unquestionable. One of the easiest leaders to root for in all the history of film-making. Stealing the show however, albeit by a very thin margin, is Toshiro Mifune as the rogue seventh. Some visuals that I spotted while watching the film were multiple rain scenes with very natural scenery (fields, towns, woods and rain all seem to be authentic taking place like in the final battle for example which occurred in a very rainy scene. As well with visuals the music in the movie had been outstanding, with a very uprising and inspiring music at times, then very dark and dramatic music. This movie also had to offer fast-paced editing and ground-breaking action during it. Carefully and expertly, it tells an interesting story with the plot and characters developed carefully. While everything about the movie, from the settings and props to the musical score are done very well. In conclusion to doing this review this movie well deserves its reputation for excellence, and is one that everyone who appreciates classic cinema will want to see and enjoy a  showdown that is relentless with excitement, this is one of the must-see action films for film buffs, or anyone with an serious interest in having fun with an epic.

Newscast Critique

Steven Glenn

The first Newscast that the class had done was pretty solid, having a few easy fixes and a lot more improvement. What I believed we had done well in during the newscast was communication between the tech crew making sure the shots were on point and the audio was tuned just fine. Another component that we did well was making eye contact in the camera and pronouncing words correctly with the anchors. What I believe that needs to be improved are the little things that happened during the newscast like someone's elbow showing when someone else was talking, or when the camera was shut off then had to be turned on again. The comment on my performance were I thought I did a solid  job, being the first time floor director. This being my first time switching from camera three it was a different perspective, as I started off pretty slow I started to progressive and became atop on everything in advance. Therefore this was the first  newscast critique that I created and these are my thoughts on it.
